It's kind of sad for me; I was born in the Year of the Monkey, and expected its return to be auspicious for me. Then I learned that the return of your animal year is NOT supposed to be lucky, but a time of trial.
This has been one of my worst years. 2004 was horrible, too. I can't remember whether or not 1992 was another bad one.
